The Women's History Month Jazz Fundraiser celebrated the life of Wynona Lipman, an Essex County Senator and first African
American woman to serve in the New Jersey State Senate.
Sixty five women of diverse cultures and ages gathered to enjoy dinner, cocktails and the original WAGG JAZZ BAND, led by famed vocalist Kate Baker.
The Keynote speaker was the Honorable Mildred Crump, Council President, City of Newark and friend of the late Senator Lipman.
WAGG-NJ will host signature events in each county in the state in an effort to elect women to the New Jersey legislature and other levels of government,
to educate women in the political process, to empower women to take political party leadership positions and to raise funds to support these goals.
If you are interested in hosting a WAGG-NJ event in your county contact, Myra Terry, Chair, at myra@wfnj.org.
